at least I know my secret is safe with me
The only gem I kept sits in my opulent heart.
My heart used to be a dragon with subtle words and action and every thought dimmed, A heart of conundrums for years I didn't know them I told my story of sorrows and love the ones I didn't let go of, They forced my claws― it really happened cleaving walls! my ancient talent! The nights stayed smokey, accepting plights exiled in my own keep my own halls on my own feet I know my heart is waking up I haven't known it this way where things seem enough even when I don't see your face. I have a secret riddle: I keep it light what am I? ―it's silver bright what am I? It is pure and whole and reserved for a soul who's right. What am I? It warms like my flames like scales it defends protects what's precious devoted to the end! ―I admit, my heart remains a dragon.
